Your files

Files you convert with GlideConvert are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else’s. We have no access to their content, names or metadata. Converted files exist only in your browser’s memory (and, for very large videos, in your browser’s private origin storage) until you close the tab or download them.

What we collect

  • Anonymous usage statistics. When a page loads or a tool is used, a small request records the page address, the referring website, a device type (mobile or desktop), the country derived from your IP address, and a daily visitor code computed from a salted hash of your IP address and browser. The IP address itself is not stored and the code changes every day, so you cannot be tracked across days. No cookies are used for this.
  • Purchases. If you buy Pro, we store the order ID, plan, price, payment status reported by our payment processor, the license key and anonymous device identifiers used to enforce the device limit. We do not receive your wallet address details beyond what the processor reports, and never your card details.
  • Server logs. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested URL, browser) for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting.

Local storage

We store your settings (theme, last used options) and, if you have Pro, your license token in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Third parties

  • Advertising. Free pages may in the future show ads from Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve ads. Pro users see no ads.
  • Payments are processed by NOWPayments (nowpayments.io), a cryptocurrency payment processor. When you pay, you interact with their payment page and their privacy policy applies.
  • Code libraries such as the FFmpeg WebAssembly build are downloaded from public CDNs (jsDelivr or unpkg) when a tool needs them. Those CDNs see your IP address as with any download, but never your files.

Children

GlideConvert is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because we hold almost no personal data, there is usually nothing to access or delete. For questions about your purchase data, email hello@glideconvert.com with your order ID.
