Why GlideConvert?
- Private by design. Your files are converted on your own device by your browser — they are never uploaded to a server. That keeps them private, avoids upload waits and means there is no queue.
- Fast. Images convert in a fraction of a second; video uses your device’s hardware encoder.
- Free. No sign-up, no watermark. 10 images, 5 audio files or one video at a time — Pro lifts the limits and removes ads.
Frequently asked questions
What is 1000×1000 used for?
Product photos for online marketplaces, which often ask for at least 1000 px so shoppers can zoom. It is a square (1:1) image.
Crop to fill, fit or stretch — what is the difference?
Crop to fill fills the exact size and trims what does not fit (you can drag the crop area). Fit keeps the whole picture and adds borders in a color you choose. Stretch forces the exact size and distorts the image — rarely what you want.
Will resizing reduce quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp — we use high-quality, step-by-step downscaling. Making it bigger than the original cannot add detail, so small images may look soft when enlarged.
What about DPI?
Websites and apps only care about pixels. DPI matters for printing: print size in inches = pixels ÷ DPI. For example, 600×600 pixels print as 2×2 inches at 300 DPI.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. The free plan handles 10 images at a time, and you can download everything as a single ZIP. Pro removes the batch limit, converts files in parallel and supports files up to 4 GB.
