Why GlideConvert?

  • Private by design. Your files are converted on your own device by your browser — they are never uploaded to a server. That keeps them private, avoids upload waits and means there is no queue.
  • Fast. Images convert in a fraction of a second; video uses your device’s hardware encoder.
  • Free. No sign-up, no watermark. 10 images, 5 audio files or one video at a time — Pro lifts the limits and removes ads.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a US passport photo?

2×2 inches (51×51 mm). For online forms the usual digital size is a square JPG of at least 600×600 pixels; the U.S. Diversity Visa photo, for example, must be 600×600 to 1200×1200 pixels and no larger than 240 KB.

Does this check if my photo meets the rules?

No — it only crops, resizes and compresses. Make sure the photo itself follows the official rules: plain white or off-white background, head centered and facing the camera, no glasses, taken in the last six months. Always check the latest requirements of the agency you submit to.

How do I center my face?

After you drop the photo, drag the crop frame so that your head is centered and fills roughly half to two-thirds of the height.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. GlideConvert runs entirely in your browser: images are processed with the browser’s built-in codecs and WebAssembly, video and audio with hardware-accelerated WebCodecs (or a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg for older formats). Nothing is sent anywhere — you can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.
