How to Make a GIF From a Video (Free, No Watermark)
GIFs play everywhere without a video player, which makes them perfect for reactions, tutorials and product demos. The trick is keeping them short and small.
Open the Video to GIF tool → Free, nothing is uploaded
Make the GIF
- Open Video to GIF and drop your clip.
- Play the preview and click Set start and Set end — 2 to 6 seconds is ideal.
- Pick a width (480 px is a good default) and frame rate (12–15 fps), then click Make GIF.
Keep it small
- Every second, every extra 100 pixels of width and every extra frame per second adds size.
- GIF is limited to 256 colors, so simple scenes compress far better than busy ones.
- Where video is allowed (X/Twitter, Discord, websites), a short MP4 is 5–10 times smaller — convert back with GIF to MP4.
